Hello!
I recently went on honeymoon to Mauritius, my husband and I were dropped off in quite a remote part of the island to go snorkelling and what we saw below the surface was amazing. At first we thought we had been dropped off in an area with hundreds of snakes, however on closer inspection, the “snakes” were in fact some kind of strange plant or creature, and I was hoping someone could help me get some clarity on this. They were attached to the reef and some went up to about 3m in length. They seemed to be a brownish maroon colour, snake-ish / pipe-like body and had an opening at the end of what almost seemed like a mouth which was swallowing debris in the water.
Has anyone got any ideas? Its been puzzling me for months!
Many thanks
Claudia
